1. Preparing the music for the tests
Music for use in the tests
The artist/band is responsible for making a soundbite (30 seconds) and
uploading with their full track. This is done by following the instructions. A track
cannot be longer than 5 minutes.
The MP3 file has to be 128 Kbps or greater, plus it has to have exactly a sample
rate equal 44.1 KHz.

For download sales, a .WAV-version of the full track will be required, but can always
be added after the tests has completed.
Uploading the soundbites and tracks
Go to the page "Create new testjob", and you will be asked to upload the sound files
when you follow the steps on the page .
What happens when I have submitted the test job?
Your soundbite will now be sent to our tracktesters in a test containing 10 soundbites
from various artists. The soundbites that reaches a good rating, will be offered
a full track test, and finally the option to be sent to download sales and distributed
to labels and radio stations.
2. Distributing music for download sales
You can always choose to distribute the music after the tests has completed, and
you will receive emails after the test process that explains the simple steps that
is necessary for the distribution.
Requirements for download sales
1) Upload a WAV-version of the track. This can always be done on the page "My uploaded
tracks" or when creating the testjob.
2) Fill out the PROFESSIONAL DATA form, which is sent to you by email (bank
account information for receiving payments and other optional artist data).
3) Fill out the ONLINE SALES DATA form, which is sent to you by email when the test
results are ready.
Getting it in the shops
If your music reaches a certain rating, you will automatically receive an email
which offers you distribution of your music for download sales. It is simple, just enter required information for our distribution channels and pay a small fee, and
your music is immediately distributed to all the major music shops on the market.

How long does it take?
We send the music the distribution network immediately, and the music will then appear after few days in the first music shops. Some shops may take longer,
up to a month, depending on the update cycles in the respective music shops.
How can I see the sales statistics?
The method and cycle of how we retrieve the statistics from each music shop varies
a lot, but as soon as we receive any statistics from any shop, we will send them
to you.
When will I receive payments for the sales?
Just as soon as we receive your sales statistics from the distribution network,
the according amount will be transferred to your account.
3. Spreading the word / marketing
TrackTesting will help your music to get to the radio stations and the A&R departments
of the labels in your country. As your music already has been rated by a real audience,
it increases your chances to be selected out for the radio playlists and to be spotted
for a record contract.

What can I do myself?
You can do your own marketing by adding the "Track/Artist Badges" to your emails
or your websites. The badges and the attached HTML code, links to your track
or artist page on the TrackTesting website and music shop, so everybody knows where
to buy your music.
Does TrackTesting perform any marketing ?
The artists that reaches the TrackTesting Hitlists, will be exposed on several partner
sites.
We also cooperate with other music communities, which is sending out newsletters
with material like the "Artist of the week" or the "TrackTesting Hitlists".
We are continuously finding new partners and new marketing channels.
